A watercolor value study of an Arabian stallion, painted in blue with iridescent accents. Detail added with white jelly roll pen. Size of painted area is 4.5" x 4.5"/11.5 cm x 11.5 cm. Actual paper size is 6" x 6"14.5 cm x 14.5 cm. 300 gr Arches cold press paper, fine grain. Unframed. Please note that the edges are straight - the unevenness seen along the edges is due to some slight paper buckling. In the photo the painting is being held down by two plastic rulers (not included).

The primary purpose of a value study is to capture the range from light to dark ("values") rather than the real-life colors. In February of 2021 I made a series of small value studies using the same image, and as they turned out quite well despite being practice paintings I thought I would offer them for sale at a low price. It's a great opportunity to buy a piece of original art for next to nothing!
