One and a half years into the pandemic it seems almost surreal and as part of another lifetime, but in February of 2020 I went on a photography trip to Egypt. We had heard of COVID-19 and the world was on edge, but everything was still functioning more or less as normal. Little did I know that just a few weeks after returning home the world would shut down. I am so grateful to have had the last-minute opportunity to go photograph some of the most exquisite Arabians the world has to offer, and this painting is from one of my favorite photos from that trip. It is a portrait of the stunning Arabian mare Wahag Albadeia, owned and bred by the world-famous Albadeia Stud. I had the most wonderful time at Albadeia, and I hope to return soon... for more photos, and more art.
